Doug Mccune has an amazing project called TileUI for flex, if you haven't seen it yet its conceptually the same as the Bumptop demo that was floating around Youtube a while back.

Binding vs Callback...

Hey guys quick question for the performance freaks out there.

In our current application, we have a bunch of translations coming from an xml (chinese, french etc), and we load the translations at the start of the application and then set the appropriate mx:labels text property through the ID names. ie

Woooh!! been a great week on flex 3!
There is now a profiler as part of flex builder, so we will be able to track object instantiation and event listenerers, hopefully make tracking down memory leaks a hell of a lot easier! plus we are getting framework caching so we don't have to worry about the swf sizes anymore!

Heading down to Adove Live in London tommorrow, can't wait for the flex and apollo talks in the developers day sessions! Goddamit I want that flex 2 poster (and the apollo t-shirt)!!
